DON’T RULE OUT A JUMPSUIT
I know what you’re thinking: “No way, I’m not wrangling my body into a jumpsuit! They’re too hard to get on, worse to take off, and bathroom breaks are impossible.“
I ask you to trust me about the styling and fit of this jumpsuit. It’s available in sizes XS-XXL, easy to put on and off, and oh-so-flattering.
Plus, at under $30, it’s super affordable, and its versatility will work for many occasions: think plus-size wedding guest look, holiday events, date nights, and even a plus-size, elevated casual lunch with friends. In fact, I would even consider wearing it as a plus-size mother-of-the-bride/groom outfit if funds were tight.
Don’t believe me? Let’s jump right in and look at a few ways to wear it.
SIX WAYS TO STYLE A JUMPSUIT
NOTE ON FIT AND QUALITY—Like many Amazon items, the fabric isn’t top-of-the-line. However, it’s not bad, even for someone quite particular about fabric. ME! And I realize I said this was a plus-size jumpsuit, but it only goes up to an XXL, which I’m wearing. I think it fits a bit generously, and I might have been able to wear the XL. Find my current measurements here for reference.
SIMPLY STYLISH
The red color is fantastic, and the red photographs amazingly, so why not let it shine by keeping everything else simple? A simple necklace in your best metal, mine is silver, some simple chic sandals or pumps and a bag in the same tone as your hair will pull it all together.
ELONGATE THE CANVAS
This affordable jumpsuit comes in 14 colors, and since navy is one of my best neutrals, I chose it. I still opted to keep this look simple, but adding a longer pendant necklace breaks up the expanse of blue and elongates the neckline. Did you see this pendant is a monocle, so you can read the menu without pulling your readers out?
This time, I also wore the jumpsuit on the shoulders instead of off and pulled my hair back for a more youthful-ish look.
GO WILD WITH A BELT
Adding a belt to a jumpsuit makes bathroom breaks a bit longer, but I think the payoff might be worth it in this case. Red and animal print are SO GOOD together! Don’t you agree?
MOTHER-OF-THE-BRIDE/GROOM
If you didn’t believe this $30 jumpsuit would be a perfect mother-of-the-bride/groom look, I hope this convinces you. All it took was a bejeweled belt, jewelry you probably already own, an updo, and SHAZAAM!
Or wouldn’t it be great for sophisticated bridesmaids? Think how excited your friends would be that the entire look is well under $100!
The belt comes in many colors, ties in the back, and the ribbon is long enough for most plus-size women. I’m an average size 18 and could probably cut off at least 18″. See the next photo.
GLAMMING UP A PLUS-SIZE JUMPSUIT
If I haven’t yet convinced you that you need a white blazer, perhaps this will. I always think wide-leg pants and a blazer are old-Hollywood glam. I’m not interested in Hollywood, but I’ll take glamorous.
Pointed-toe pumps are an elongating shoe option for wide-leg pants. I will admit that this pair hurts my feet, and I only keep them for “I need a pair of close-toed dress shoes” emergencies. If you have suggestions for comfortable, cool-tone nude, kitten-heel, pointed-toe pumps, pass them along.
CASUAL PLUS-SIZE JUMPSUIT OUTFIT IDEA
Let’s be real: I don’t dress up that often, so I’m all about finding ways to create casual outfits with most of my clothes, which is essential to me. A denim jacket and a pair of elevated sneakers always come to the rescue. And although I didn’t think of it when I took these photos, I think a longer cardigan would be great here, too.
Once again, I chose a bag in a tone similar to my hair to pull it all together. Plus, because I wouldn’t say I like changing out my bag to match every outfit, a bag color similar to my hair means it always goes with me. 😉
WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE PLUS-SIZE JUMPSUIT OUTFIT?
Did you pick up a style tip you will incorporate into your style game? My little secret for choosing a bag color has been a game changer when it comes to looking polished and pulled together no matter what I’m wearing. It’s similar to this principle when choosing the best color shoes for an outfit.
